John A. Murphy, MD

John A. Murphy, MD obtained his medical degree at the University of South Dakota and completed his residency at Tripler Army Medical Center.  He is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. 

Dr. Murphy is one of the founding member of Bend Obstetrics & Gynecology, LLC which he and Dr. Palacio started in March of 2001.  He is an active staff physician at St. Charles Medical Center - Bend and a visiting staff member at St. Charles Medical Center - Redmond.  Dr. Murphy is a member of the Central Oregon Medical Society.

Dr. Murphy enjoys spending time with his family especially his beautiful children who are very active in swimming and other school activities.


Peter E. Palacio, MD

Peter E. Palacio, MD obtained his medical degree at Michigan State University of Human Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Dr. Palacio has practiced obstetrics and gynecology since 1997.  Prior to moving to Bend in 1997, he served in the United States Army's Medical Corps retiring as a Major.  Dr. Palacio is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. 

Dr. Palacio is one of the founding members of Bend Obstetrics & Gynecology, LLC which he and Dr. Murphy started in March of 2001.  He is an active staff physician at St. Charles Medical Center - Bend and a visiting staff physician at St. Charles Medical Center - Redmond.  Dr. Palacio is Chairman for the Oregon Section of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists where he advocates for women's health care issues.  He is currently a Board member of the Ronald McDonald House of Central Oregon, an advisor and volunteer physician to the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic in Bend and a former president of the Central Oregon Medical Society.

Dr. Palacio enjoys obstetrics while his clinical interests are in minimally invasive surgery and office based procedures. 

He is married with three children and enjoys spending time with his family horseback riding, boating, skiing, golfing and restoring old cars.


James M. Carlson, DO

James M. Carlson, DO received his B.S. degree from the University of Wyoming in Molecular Biology and then attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California. His residency and internship were completed at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan.  Dr. Carlson has practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Oregon since 2002 and joined Bend Obstetrics & Gynecology in February 2008.

Dr. Carlson is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a diplomat of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetrics & Gynecology.  He is also a member of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association and the Central Oregon Medical Society.

Dr. Carlson's special interests are in reconstructive pelvic surgery for pelvic prolapse and urinary incontinence as well as minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.  He also enjoys both normal and high risk
obstetrics.  As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Carlson enjoys the "holistic" approach to health and wellbeing.

Dr. Carlson is married with 3 children and in his spare time can be found on the ski slopes, water skiing,
camping or on the mountain bike trails around Bend.

 


Julie A. Wheir, MD

Julie Wheir, MD received her B.S. degree, her medical degree, and completed her residency training at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Dr. Wheir is a Junior Fellow with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Wheir is interested in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, but has a particular interest in delivering babies and minimally invasive surgery.  She is also committed to establishing personal relationships with her patients with a focus on patient education and preventive medicine.  

Dr. Wheir is very active in many outdoor activities including running, mountain biking and skiing.  She enjoys these activities with her husband, Will, and enjoys spending time with their young son, Liam, and their big dogs, Hunter and Dutch.
